John Britton Consulting is a structures-driven practice with a strong focus on career development. Our project engineers are an integral part of the office design team and get the benefit of working directly with the practice principal, a chartered structural engineer with 30 years post-chartered experience.  Our project engineers receive constant in-house mentoring; this mentoring is in all structural materials and all structural formats. 

 

We also actively encourage self-directed learning and Continuing Professional Development; engineers typically attend two or three courses a year, as courses of interest arise.  Engineers, senior and junior,  are encouraged to bounce ideas off one another; this approach challenges thought processes and helps all to learn.

 

Graduates are encouraged to take responsibility and have early engagement with the Client, Architect and other designers; this gives the engineer the opportunity  to better understand how to achieve the optimum structural solutions for each individual project.

We take a particular interest in assisting and guiding recent graduates to achieve Chartered Membership of Engineers Ireland and to sit the Institution of Structural Engineers Professional Membership exam.
